The kick – off meeting for the “Comprehensive Feasibility Studies for three regional Hospitals inIaşi, Cluj and Craiova – Romania” project took place in Bucharest on the 27th of June 2017, signifying the launch of the 22 months project led by PLANET. 

The overall objective of the project is to support the Romanian authorities in the preparation of a wider project regarding the construction of three regional hospitals in Iasi, Cluj-Napoca and Craiova. This wider project is part of the Romanian National Health Strategy, and aims to obtain co-financing from the European Structural and Investment (ESI) Funds

The purpose of this project is to develop a complete and updated set of documents needed to obtain the European Commission approval for the financing of the construction of the three regional hospitals from ESI funds, including:

  • The Functional Plans defining the detailed space requirements and arrangements of medical departments based on the actual medical needs and considering best international practice.
  • The Architectural Designs based on the findings of the revised Functional Plans and the preliminary surveys and studies regarding the actual sites in Cluj, Craiova and Iasi.
  • The complete Feasibility Studies for the ESI funds Application.
  • The applications for ESI funds.

The project is implemented by an international consortium led by PLANET.
