For another year, PLANET sponsored Green Deal Greece 2026, organised by the Technical Chamber of Greece (TEE), in collaboration with economix.gr, on Monday, 2 November, at the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center. The conference was held for the sixth consecutive year, with the central question: “Resilience: the new sustainability?”
Representatives of government and public bodies, as well as members of the business and academic communities, took part in the conference. Dimitris Arvanitis, Chief Technical Officer, Construction Management Services at PLANET, participated in the infrastructure panel, where he spoke about the vital role of the technical consultant in delivering complex projects.
As he noted, delivering a project requires collaboration among multiple parties: political leadership sets the strategy and priorities; public administration services provide institutional continuity; designers develop the technical solutions; and construction companies put them into practice. Within this chain, the technical consultant works alongside the implementing bodies, contributing specialist expertise and independent technical judgement to address complex issues and identify appropriate solutions.
Dimitris Arvanitis stressed that successful projects depend on collaboration and shared responsibility. As he emphasised, planning must look beyond the present and take climate change and resilience into account.
The conference highlighted the need for infrastructure, cities and societies that are ready to meet the challenges ahead—from the climate crisis and the energy transition to digital transformation and changes in the economic and geopolitical environment.
