PLANET contributes to the dialogue on the future of transport at ITC 2026

For the third consecutive year, PLANET participated as a Silver Sponsor in the 9th Infrastructure and Transport Conference – ITC 2026, held from 28 to 30 September at the Megaron Athens International Conference Centre, supporting the dialogue on infrastructure development and the future of transport.

Dimitris Katsochis, Director, Head of Transport & Urban Planning at PLANET, represented the company in the panel discussion on electromobility and alternative fuels. The panel also brought together representatives of the Hellenic Association of Motor Vehicle Importers and Representatives (SEAA), Greek motorway operators, the Hellenic Institute of Transport (HIT/CERTH), and a major insurance group.

His contribution focused on matching each technology to the transport needs it serves. He highlighted the potential of electromobility for urban buses, taxis and city cars, alongside the prospects of hydrogen for heavy vehicles and long-distance transport. He also stressed the need to expand charging infrastructure and provide targeted support to help vulnerable social groups access electric vehicles.

For urban mobility, he emphasized that reducing car use remains a priority, supported by stronger public transport services and urban rail networks. The transition to cleaner mobility therefore depends both on vehicle technology and on the everyday travel options available to citizens.

Through its participation in ITC 2026, PLANET contributed to the discussion on the technologies, infrastructure and transport planning that will shape the sector’s future.
