PLANET leads EU-Funded water infrastructure project in Southern Turkey

Hatay, Turkey

PLANET has been awarded the role of leading an international consortium in delivering an EU-funded technical assistance and supervision project for the restoration of critical water supply and sewerage infrastructure in the earthquake-affected provinces of Hatay and Osmaniye, Southeastern Turkey. With a total budget of €5.1 million, the project will secure essential services for over 2.2 million residents in two regions severely impacted by the 2023 earthquakes.

The scope of works includes the implementation of four wastewater treatment plants, three extensive water supply networks, three sewerage projects, and stormwater management systems, alongside the construction of more than 500 km of new pipelines, water storage tanks, and pumping stations. Beyond the technical interventions, the project also encompasses institutional strengthening actions, empowering local utilities and ensuring compliance with EU and Turkish environmental standards.

Spanning 36 months, the assignment is set to become a benchmark for international cooperation in post-disaster recovery. Combining technical excellence with strong social and environmental impact, this project reflects PLANET’s long-standing expertise in complex infrastructure initiatives and its role as a strategic partner in advancing sustainable development and resilience
