PLANET successfully organizes the first out of the total 10 seminars on Public Procurement in Lebanon

In the framework of the EU funded Technical Assistance project “Technical Support for the modernization of Public Procurement in Lebanon – ENPI/2013/327-622”, the first of a series of 10 advanced seminars in Public Procurement was held in Beirut on the 24th, 25th, and 26th of October 2016. The project is implemented by an international consortium led by PLANET.

The course tackled the identification of the risks associated with the activities of the “Needs Identification and Pre-Tendering Phases” of the Procurement cycle and by managing those risks in accordance with international good practices. The course also provided the tools adopted in project management to identify, assess, and manage the risks in Public Procurement, hence enabling better monitoring and control.

35 Senior Procurement Professionals and Officers form more than 15 authorities and organizations of the Lebanese public sector participated in the Seminars. Based on the evaluation of the course by the participants, all of them were satisfied and motivated to attend further specialized courses in public procurement.
